Response to Cruise Ship Industry Concerns

This morning in the house, I responded to concerns regarding the cruise ship industry and recent US legislation that temporarily allows Alaska-bound ships to bypass Canadian ports. This measure has a sunset-clause which coincides with our federal government’s ban on cruise ship travel. The ban was put in place to stop the spread of COVID-19 and when it is lifted in February 2022, Prince Rupert will be ready and happy to receive passengers once again. 🚢

The province will continue to support and defend BC’s tourism industry, as well as all the people, businesses and communities who depend on it.
