Smithers — More parents in northwest B.C. will see dramatic savings as six child care sites are welcomed into the $10 a Day child care program.

This backgrounder contains additional information on sites that will introduce 348 $10 a Day ChildCareBC spaces in communities throughout the northwest.

KITIMAT –

Coast Mountain Children Society
Kitimat Coast Mountain Children Society; 33 spaces (eight infant-toddler, 25 three years old to kindergarten age), non-profit located on school grounds

KITIMAAT VILLAGE –

Haisla Nation Council
Cimo’ca Childcare; 34 spaces (eight infant-toddler, 16 three years old to kindergarten age, 10 school age), Indigenous-led

SMITHERS –

Kyah Wiget Education Society
Wit’suwit’en Child and Family Center; 29 spaces (10 infant-toddler, 19 three years old to kindergarten age), Indigenous-led non-profit located on school grounds

TERRACE –

Coast Mountain Children Society
Terrace Coast Mountain Children Society; 176 spaces (36 infant-toddler, 80 three years old to kindergarten age, 60 school age), non-profit located on school grounds

P.A.C.E.S Day Care Society

  • P.A.C.E.S. Day Care; 40 spaces (12 infant-toddler, 16 three years old to kindergarten age, 12 school age), non-profit located on school grounds
  • P.A.C.E.S. Day Care #2; 36 spaces (12 infant-toddler, 24 three years old to kindergarten age), non-profit
