Prince Rupert RCMP Victim Services organized a well-attended event on the lawn of city hall to commemorate World Suicide Prevention Day today.
Suicide, depression and other mental illnesses do not discriminate. It impacts people from all walks of life, across races, nationalities, religions, professions.
For too long, government supports have been lacking to support people facing mental health and addiction challenges. Our government has created a stand-alone Ministry for mental health and addictions and have produced a 10 year plan called Pathway to Hope to help tackle the crises.
