This innovative agreement lays out the pathway towards reconciliation between the Crown and the Heiltsuk Nation. I know firsthand, from working closely with the Heiltsuk over the last several years, the strength of their leadership and powerful mandate they have from their himas, umaqs (chiefs and matriarchs) and people. I see that strength and vision reflected in this agreement.
