We all know that B.C. is seismically active. Some of the world’s highest magnitude earthquakes have occurred just off our shore. Ocean Networks Canada manages a collection of observatories along our coast where nodes on the ocean floor collect real-time chemical, biological and geological data.

With a $5 million investment by Emergency Management BC, next year, ONC will unveil a new system intended to serve as an earthquake early warning system.
