As of June 1st, the lowest paid workers in BC have had their wages increased to $15.20 per hour.
Additionally, the unfair lower wages for liquor servers, which allows these workers (mostly women) to be paid less than minimum wage, has been eliminated.
This will make life more affordable for people working in BC – especially those on the frontlines.
Having a fair minimum wage is a key step to lifting people out of poverty and building a stronger BC for everyone. https://news.gov.bc.ca/24580
