Economic Importance of Keeping Bears Alive in Great Bear Rainforest

November 24, 2016 | Prince Rupert| Jennifer Rice, MLA North Coast

Today we announced that a BC NDP government will ban the grizzly bear trophy hunt in British Columbia.

As the MLA for North Coast and such a large part of the Great Bear Rainforest, I know that keeping grizzly bears alive are vital not just culturally but economically to my constituents.

Leadership means we need to do whatever we can to support rural and remote local communities in their new economies.

Communities. Cultures. Grizzlies – Let’s keep them all alive.

Jennifer Rice,

MLA North Coast

Watch as MLA Jennifer Rice discusses with constituent, Chief Doug Neasloss, what it means to ban the grizzly trophy hunt in the Great Bear Rainforest.
